Jet Airways has posted a net loss of 8.91 billion rupees in the second quarter ended September. This is compared to a loss of 997 million rupees in the same period a year earlier. Revenues were up by 1.3% however to 41.94 billion rupees.
The airline stated that a “lean season and the economic slowdown resulted in a drop in yields (returns)”, while the “depreciating currency, high fuel costs and increase in airport charges at some Indian airports drove up cost pressures, resulting in losses".
