Mongolia’s Hunnu Air operated the first scheduled Embraer E2 flight into mainland China on May 11, 2025, on an inaugural flight from Ulaanbaatar to Beijing’s Daxing International Airport.
The flight was operated by the first of two new Embraer E195-E2 aircraft delivered to Hunnu Air from Azorra in April. This follows type acceptance certification granted by the Mongolian Civil Aviation Authority (MCAA) for Embraer’s E190-E2 and E195-E2 aircraft on April 16, 2025 - a move that allows the E2 family’s entry into Mongolia’s aviation market.
“We expect that E2 will become a backbone of our long-term growth, enabling us to deliver unparalleled connectivity across the region,” said Munkhjargal Purevjal, CEO of Hunnu Air.
The airline plans to deploy its E195-E2 aircraft to expand services to Japan, China, Vietnam, India and South Korea.
