Batik Air resumes Kuala Lumpur- Colombo route

Batik Air recently resumed flights from Kuala Lumpur International Airport to Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The airline has deployed its brand-new Boeing 737-800 on the route with two configurations.

The return flight to Kuala Lumpur is six hours after it arrives in Colombo as the aircraft operates a fifth freedom flight from Colombo to Male during the brief spell. The Male route is the new addition to the network.

Batik Air Malaysia has fifth freedom rights on routes like Denpasar (DPS) Indonesia, from where the airline flies onwards to the Australian cities of Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane. The carrier also operates fifth freedom flights from Taipei (TPE) to Sapporo (seasonal), Osaka, and Nagoya.

The airline will soon commence a second new route on a daily basis to Seoul Incheon. The airline is planning to deploy its Boeing 737 MAX 8 on this route starting from July 2023. Besides another route connecting Kuala Lumpur to Hanoi will commence from May 26, 2023.
