Norwegian has opened a new route from Edinburgh to Billund, Denmark, marking the airline’s fourth connection between the Scottish capital and the Nordics.
The route is one of 10 new routes that Norwegian is launching from Billund to popular destinations across Europe.
The airline said it sees “significant potential” in Billund and the surrounding region, which is both a tourist destination and an area with a “strong and active” business community.
The city of Billund is located in Jutland, an area known as Denmark’s capital of play and creativity. Billund is home to LEGOLAND, one of the country’s most visited tourist attractions.
The news builds on Norwegian's latest summer programme, announced last month, which offers increased capacity between the UK and the Nordic countries.
The low-cost airline will be offering direct year-round flights from London, Manchester, Edinburgh, and Newcastle to Nordic capitals and key cities.
Also last month, Norwegian announced that it will open three new routes out of Sweden in summer 2026, and that it has exercised an option to purchase 30 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.
Norwegian and Boeing agreed to adjust the delivery dates related to the option, with the final aircraft in the order now scheduled for delivery in 2031.
