Vietnam Airlines launches operations from Munich

Vietnam Airlines is expanding its operations from Munich (MUC), operating services to the Vietnamese capital of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

The airline will operate two flights weekly to Hanoi while serving Ho Chi Minh City once a week, however from December frequencies will increase to twice weekly.

"We are delighted about the new flights by Vietnam Airlines from Munich Airport," said Jost Lammers, CEO of Munich Airport. "The connections are a significant expansion of our Asia services and strengthen Munich Airport's position as one of the leading aviation hubs in Europe. We are confident that these new direct flights will further enhance economic ties and cultural exchange between Bavaria and Vietnam," said Jost Lammers, CEO of Munich Airport.

This makes Munich the fourth European destination that the airline will serve, joining Frankfurt (FRA), London (LHR) and Paris (CDG).

The new routes will be operated on Vietnam Airlines' 787-9 aircraft.
