US airlines carried 81.2 million passengers in April 2024, both domestically and internationally, according to the US Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS). Unadjusted, the figures represent a record high for the month and up 4.7% from the same period a year prior.
Unadjusted domestic passengers in April 2024 reached a record of 70.6 million, as well as international passengers boarded at 10.65 million.
Adjusted for seasonality, April's passenger numbers were at 80.8 million and marked a 4.3% increase over April 2023. It was also 1.8% shy of reaching February's record adjusted numbers and 0.5% down from the previous month.
Adjusted number of domestic passengers boarded were at 69.8 million, down 2% from the all-time high of 71.2 million reached in November last year. Additionally, adjusted international enplanements were at 10.95 million, down 1.7% from record adjusted 11.14 million passengers boarded in February this year.
