Luxair has signed a firm order with Embraer for two E195-E2 jets.
In exercising the two options secured in its 2023 firm order for four E195-E2 aircraft, the airline now has a total of six E195-E2s on order.
Gilles Feith, CEO of Luxair, named the aircraft type as a “critical investment” in the airline’s future. “The E195-E2 aligns perfectly with our vision for a more sustainable, efficient, and customer-focused regional airline,” said Feith.
The first aircraft delivery from Luxair’s 2023 order, is scheduled for early 2026 with this latest order securing additional delivery slots in 2027.
Marie-Louise Philippe, SVP sales and marketing, head of region Europe and Central Asia, Embraer commercial aviation, commented: “The E2 is perfectly suited to Luxair’s operations and ambitions, closely complementing Luxair’s existing and on-order fleet, ensuring the maximum level of fleet and network optimisation to the airline for the long-term.”
Luxair’s E195-E2 will be configured in a single class layout with 136 seats.
