Two United Airlines 777 aircraft made contact on the ground at San Francisco International Airport on May 6, 2025.
The incident occurred during the pushback of one aircraft, while the other was taxiing nearby. The wingtips of both planes made contact, with footage posted to social media showing visible damage to both planes. One of the aircraft was departing to Hong Kong with the other travelling to Sydney.
A United spokesperson told Airline Economics that no injuries occurred and passengers on both planes deplaned normally.
