Taiwanese regional carrier UNI Air has placed a firm order for 19 ATR 72-600s, along with purchase rights for three additional units.
This is the largest airline order placed with ATR since 2017, and the second direct order from UNI Air since 2011, when the airline purchased ten ATR 72-600s.
These 19 brand-new aircraft are expected to replace and expand UNI Air’s current fleet of 14 ATR 72-600s, as part of the airline’s attempt to modernise and grow operations.
“With this new order, we are reinforcing our commitment to ensuring a young and modern fleet to serve the domestic market efficiently,” said Solomon Lin, chairman of UNI Air.
Operating primarily from Taipei’s Songshan Airport, the EVA Air Group subsidiary provides air connectivity to 11 destinations, including the islands of Kinmen, Penghu and Matsu.
Deliveries of these aircraft are scheduled between 2027 and 2032.
