TIGER UP 32% IN 2010

Tiger Airways confirmed yesterday that it carried a total of 5.8 million passengers for 2010, up 32% from the 4.4 million passengers in 2009.

Average load factor for 2010 increased to 86%, up by two percentage points year-on-year. For the month of December, Tiger Airways carried 555,000 passengers, a 22% increase year on year. The average load factor across Asia and Australia for the month was 91%, an increase of one percentage point over December 2009. President and group CEO of Tiger Airways, Tony Davis said: "These figures demonstrate continued high levels of consumer demand for our low fare product across Asia and Australia." Over the next 12 months, the airline will take delivery of nine A320s, representing a fleet increase of 36%.

Tiger Airways begins a new daily service between Singapore and Taipei, and double daily services between Singapore and Jakarta.
