Third quarter 2024 recorded the largest ever number of UK seats, according to aviation analytics firm Cirium.
The firm reported 282,775 flights departed from UK airports in the quarter, which equates to around 51 million seats - the highest ever and surpassing 2019 levels.
Cirium said this was a result of airlines introducing larger aircraft to their fleets, as well as adding more seats to aircraft.
For the period, Dubai was the most popular destination from the UK at 10,508 flights and 1.5 million seats. The most popular single route was Heathrow to New York's JFK.
The company also anticipates around 236,002 flights operated from the UK in the fourth quarter of the year.
