The future of Velvet Sky remains in doubt since the airline has not resumed flights as promised from today. The airline is however refusing to give refunds for tickets for flights in the coming weeks and months even though reports are emerging that the airline is giving staff temporary layoff notices.
Velvet Sky spokesman Jerome Govender said the airline had “every intention” of refunding affected passengers, but conceded that it was having “a bit of a complication” accessing funds.
Because the airline is technically still open for business, refunds on future flights cannot be granted and those owed refunds cannot yet apply to their banks for charge-back.
