New carrier Norse Atlantic Airways said it crossed the 300,000-passenger mark at the turn of the year, after logging more than 10,000 flight hours and over 1,500 commercial flights since its maiden flight in June 2022.
A busy December contributed, the company explained, with single-day revenue and ticket sales records broken during a month that saw it operate 228 flights, nine of them charter and wetlease, and carrying almost 50,000 passengers - a 48% increase on November.
The month also saw Norse operate its first ex-Europe flights to the "Far East" and the Caribbean. Flights were mostly on time, the carrier said, aside from delays related to harsh winter weather seen across the US in late December.
"I am particularly pleased that we have successfully completed nine wetlease and charter operations during December, as a new entrant this market we have clearly displayed that Norse has both the technical ability, high standard of crew and flexibility required to satisfy our customers in this segment," said chief executive Bjorn Tore Larsen.
