Silver Airways has filed for Chapter 11 protection in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida on December 30, 2024.
The airline described the move as a step toward ensuring a "sustainable future" for its operations. This decision will allow Silver Airways to secure additional capital and undertake a financial restructuring.
The regional US airline operates flights between Florida, the Southeast US and The Bahamas.
The airline noted that tickets remain valid, and bookings can still be made via its website. Customers traveling through partnerships with United Airlines and JetBlue, including loyalty program members, will not experience any disruptions to their bookings or benefits.
Silver Airways anticipates completing this restructuring process by the first quarter of 2025.
