Airbus delivered 55 aircraft to 31 customers in September 2022 and had 13 firm orders to be delivered in September. Airbus report states that the OEM has delivered 437 aircraft to 66 customers so far in 2022 with an average of 49 aircraft per month.
In a recent capital market briefing, Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury claimed to deliver 700 aircraft in 2022, in spite of the ongoing supply chain and engine problems. However, with nine months gone and only 437 delivered airplanes, Airbus has the task of delivering the pending 263 aircraft in the remaining months, an average of 88 aircraft per month as compared to the 48 per month deliveries in the first nine months of 2022.
"Based on the visibility we have now from the supply chain, we think it's manageable, but I will not tell you that it's easy. There's a hell of a lot of work to be done," Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury said during a briefing.
In September 2022, Airbus had 13 aircraft on order books, 11 A320s, and two A330-900. China's Sichuan Airlines had ordered three A320neos and three A321neos, and a private buyer ordered an A320neo, with the orders for the two A330-900s and four A321neos placed by undisclosed buyers. In August 2022, Airbus reported it had not received any orders. On a month-on-month basis, deliveries rose by 40% compared to August 2022, with 55 deliveries.
So far, Airbus has delivered 23 A320neos, 18 A321neos, five A330neos, four A350s, four A220s, and one A219neo.
Airbus currently manufactures around 50 aircraft per month and forecasts it will get to a monthly rate of 65 by 2024, six months later than previously indicated. Boeing will be publishing its monthly delivery figures later this week.
