Ryanair sets new record for June with 17.4 million passengers

Ryanair flew a record 17.4 million passengers in June, its highest for a single month and a 9% increase from a year earlier. Its previous traffic record of 17 million was set in May.

The rise in passenger numbers comes despite air traffic controls strikes in June forcing the cancellation of hundreds of flights. Ryanair cancelled more than 900 flights, affecting some 160,000 customers due to the strikes. Ryanair operated more than 96,250 flights last month

Flights were on average 95% full in June, unchanged on a year earlier.

Ryanair said it flew a total of 96,250 flights in June.

The airline operated over 173.4 million people recording an increase of 29% on the same period last year.
