Passenger traffic grows at Swedavia's airports during July

Passenger traffic at Swedavia’s ten airports rose 2% in July, when compared to the same month of the prior year, with more than 3.3 million travellers passing through its terminals.

International traffic, which accounted for the bulk of passengers, was up 2% compared to July 2024 and reached 96% of pre-pandemic levels, while domestic traffic rose 7%, though it remained at 57% of 2019 levels.

Stockholm Arlanda Airport, the country’s largest, handled over 2.4 million passengers, a 4% increase from a year earlier, reaching 97% of pre-pandemic levels.

Domestic travel at Arlanda jumped 28%, while international volumes rose by a marginal 1%.

Göteborg Landvetter Airport, Sweden’s second-largest airport, saw a 2% increase in overall traffic to 610,000 passengers. International travel was up 2%, though domestic travel declined 9%. Total volumes at Landvetter reached 89% of 2019 levels.

To meet growing demand, 15 new routes have been launched from Swedavia's airports over the summer, including charter destinations such as Lamezia Terme, Skiathos, and Monastir. Nine of the new routes originated from Arlanda and six from Landvetter.

Swedavia said the strong summer performance puts its network at 88% of pre-pandemic volumes, underscoring continued recovery in both business and leisure air travel.
