VietJet Aviation has made some major changes at the top management with the appointment of a new Chairwoman and CEO. The announcement was made during the implementation of its 2023 plan in Ho Chi Minh City.
Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao is appointed as the Chairwoman of the Board of Directors succeeding Madam Nguyen Thanh Ha and the company’s Managing Director, Dinh Viet Phuong, has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The decision is part of the company’s growth strategy, aimed at expanding and developing the business in the future. The new appointments signify the continued advancement of Vietjet’s senior leaders.
Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao is the founder of Vietjet and has been instrumental in driving the airline’s growth and success for many years. As Vietjet’s Vice Chairwoman of the Board of Directors and President and CEO, she has been instrumental in driving the airline’s growth and success for many years.
Dinh Viet Phuong has been an integral part of Vietjet since its inception, and currently serves as Permanent Vice President and Managing Director, a position he has held since October 2020. Phuong has been instrumental in guiding Vietjet through the difficult times of COVID19 pandemic and emerging stronger than before.
Vietjet transported 20.5 million passengers on 116,000 flights in 2022, representing a 20% increase in domestic passengers over the same period in 2019. The total assets increased by 30% to more than VND 67,000 billion, while the long-term debt-to-equity and liquidity ratios remained stable at 0.7 and 1.3, respectively, which were regarded as positive indicators. In 2022, the airline paid a total of VND 4,349 billion in direct and indirect taxes, fees, and charges.
