Lufthansa has cancelled 900 flights today as the first day of a three-day strike of its pilots begins. Some 425,000 passengers are thought to be affected.
The German carrier will ground a further 3,000 flights as a result of the stoppages.
Although subsidiaries Germanwings Lufthansa Cargo are also affected by the strike, Austrian Airlines and Lufthansa Cityline are not.
