LOT Polish Airlines has removed Rafal Milczarski from his position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He was also dismissed as the CEO of Polish Aviation Group (PGL), parent company of LOT, by the supervisory board.
The airline is currently looking out for a suitable candidate as the CEO, until then chief corporate officer, Katarzyna Lewandowska, will be the interim CEO and handling all the responsibilities and Elzbieta Bugaj assume the CEO responsibilities at the PGL.
According to some of the industry executives Milczarski defended labor reforms that led to widespread restructuring in the sector. Judging by the reactions coming over from various trade unions, Milczarski was not a popular leader.
Milczarski served as the chief executive of LOT since 2016 and took up the post at PGL in 2018.
