Libyan airline Berniq Airways has placed a firm order for 12 CFM LEAP-1A engines to power its new fleet of six Airbus A320neo family aircraft.

“With the introduction of the latest A320neo family aircraft powered by the LEAP-1A engine, we reaffirm our commitment to efficiency, sustainability, and excellence," said Waseem Ezzway, chairman of Berniq Airways.

Established in 2018 and launched in 2021, Berniq Airways flies to three domestic destinations (Benghazi, Misurata, and Tripoli) and eight international destinations (Alexandria, Amman, Istanbul, Tunis, and Dubai).

The airline's main hub is the Benina International Airport (BEN/HLLB) in Benghazi.
