Vijaya Mallya-owned Kingfisher Airlines is facing a shortage of pilots as it increases services as swaths of them have left and joined other carriers during the last two years as services were cut back. It is reported that some 168 pilots have quit in the last 18 months. Around 72 of this number being senior commanders. The airline now faces a shortfall of around 47 commanders.
