JetBlue Airways has announced it plans an alliance with Emirates Airline, the UAE carrier’s seventh interline partner. Passengers will be able to book a single itinerary travelling on both carriers’ networks with a single ticket, as well as one-stop check-in and baggage transfer.
Many in the industry have been surprised by the move since minority JetBlue minority shareholder Lufthansa has openly criticised Emirates for its alleged use of unfair subsidies.
JetBlue announced a tie up with American Airlines earlier this year.
