ISRAELI AIRLINE HAS SOUGHT A LICENSE FROM MALDIVES

Maldivian authorities have confirmed that an Israeli airline has applied to begin chartered flights carrying tourists to the Maldives. The license has not been issued so far.

“The license has not been issued so far due to pending matters that need to be completed on the airline’s side. According to the international conventions that we have signed up for, we cannot have a different policy in licensing an airline of a particular country. So there’s no reason why we can’t license the airline,” he said.

An official of the Civil Aviation Department confirmed that Sun d’Or International Airlines applied for the license to begin chartered flights from Israel’s economic hub, Tel Aviv, to Male to carry tourists to the Maldives.
