Iran Air has appointed Farzaneh Sharafbafi as its new chief executive officer, replacing Farhad Parvaresh who is about to represent Iran at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in Montreal, Canada.
Sharafbafi was formerly a member of Iran Air’s board as the director of the company’s research department and makes history as the first female CEO of the Iranian carrier.
In her new post, she will preside over the revamping of Iran Air’s aging fleet of passenger planes.
