HKA resumes direct daily service connecting Hong Kong to Sanya Phoenix Airport, Hainan

Hong Kong Airlines (HKA) is planning to resume its daily direct service connecting Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) and Sanya Phoenix International Airport (SYX) in Hainan. HKA will be the only airline operating on the Sanya route with the airline deploying its A320.

The resumption of this route complements HKA’s current service between Hong Kong and Haikou Haikou Meilan International Airport (HAK),

Interestingly the resumption of the route coincided with the 26th anniversary of HKSAR (Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China) and 29th anniversary of Phoenix Airport.

Speaking on the occasion Chairman of KHA, Hou Wei said: “"Hong Kong Airlines is proud to be the first airline to operate in Phoenix Airport's newly expanded and modernized international terminal. We feel incredibly fortunate to have resumed this route just in time for the anniversary celebration of the Sanya airport, creating an atmosphere of happiness and excitement for everyone involved."

“The newly expanded Sanya Airport International Terminal commenced operations today, and the resumption of flights between Hong Kong and Sanya holds significant importance for both regions' economic and tourism development,” commented spokesperson, Sanya Airport.

Hong Kong Airlines commenced operations in Sanya in 2007 and temporarily halted the service during the pandemic.
