Aeroflot Airlines is all set to resume thrice weekly flights between Moscow and Tunisia’s Enfidha-Hammamet International Airport from May 30, 2023, the airline said in a statement. The airline plans on operating A330 on the route.
At the end of February 2022, Moscow closed its airspace to flights from 36 countries, due to the ban imposed by European countries on Russian flights.
Aeroflot Airlines had suspended all international flights except those to the Belarusian capital Minsk since March 8, 2022, post Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
As per Tunisia’s Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts data, Tunisia saw an influx of over 630 thousand Russian tourists in 2019, while the numbers dropped to 90,000 during 2020 and 2021 due to pandemic restrictions.
