A Gazpromavia Antonov AN-74-200 on behalf of Polar Expedition, registration RA-74056 flying from Murmansk (Russia) to Barneo Ice Base (North Pole), made a hard landing in poor weather conditions at Barneo Ice Base (89 degrees latitude) that caused substantial structural damage to the main landing gear. The aircraft came to a stop and settled on its tail due to the damage. The occupants disembarked safely via ladders.
