Airbus helicopters and GDAT have signed a contract for up to 20 H175 helicopters (including ten firm orders and ten options), which will be marketed by Dublin-based start-up GD Helicopter Finance to customers in the energy, search and rescue, emergency medical services and parapublic market segments worldwide. The new orders will join the existing 50 H160 helicopters already on GDAT’s orderbook.
“This deal will further enhance GDHF’s ability to offer our customers near term availability of efficient, cost-effective, multi-mission helicopters of the very latest technology,” commented Micharl York, CEO of GDHF. Bruno Even, CEO of Airbus Helicopters, added that this follow-on contract “underlines the versatility and competitiveness f the H175 and the H160”.
The 55 H175s currently in service around the world have collectively accumulated more than 210,000 flight hours, 184,000 of which are in the energy sector.
