Fraport revenue jumps on increased passenger traffic

Airport operator Fraport handled around 77 million passengers during the first six months of the year – representing growth of 3.8% on the same period of 2024.

Boosted by increased passenger traffic, the company’s revenue rose by 7.3% to €1.9bn ($2.07bn), after adjusting for construction and expansion-related income. EBITDA remained broadly stable at €561.2 million ($611.7 million), reflecting a slight decline of 1% on the same period of last year.

Net profit came in at €98.6 million ($107.5 million), down 38.7%, primarily due to non-recurring effects recorded both in the prior-year period and during the current reporting period. This included a €28 million ($30.5 million) COVID compensation payment for Fraport Greece and €9.1 million ($9.9 million) in compensation for flood damage at a Brazilian airport.

“We’re on track to achieve our targets for the year,” commented Stefan Schulte, CEO of Fraport. “Following a lackluster first quarter – impacted by non-recurring effects from the previous year – we were able to improve our operating result significantly in the second quarter by a strong 8.2%.”

For the second half of 2025, Schulte stated that he is expecting growth across all the operator’s airports, with Fraport’s international portfolio performing more strongly than Frankfurt.

The company added that it has reaffirmed its guidance for the full fiscal year and anticipates passenger volumes at Frankfurt Airport (FRA) to reach up to 64 million.

A moderate increase in group EBITDA is projected, while group net profit is expected to remain stable or decline slightly, reflecting a cautious but steady outlook.
