flydubai expands fleet with 12 new 737 MAX aircraft in 2025

Dubai-based low-cost carrier flydubai said it is expecting the delivery of 12 new 737 MAX 8 aircraft in 2025.

Seven aircraft have already joined the fleet between April and August, with five more slated for delivery by year-end. Once completed, flydubai’s fleet will exceed 95 aircraft, supporting its expanding network of over 135 destinations in 57 countries.

“The arrival of these new aircraft reflects our long-term vision and confidence in the future of air travel,” said CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith. “While we’re still 20 aircraft behind original projections due to earlier delays, this year’s deliveries mark a significant step forward.”

The carrier has secured financing through a mix of Islamic and conventional debt, including facilities from ADIB, RAKBANK, and sale-leaseback deals with JLPS and JLPS Ireland, underscoring strong market confidence in its business model.

flydubai has also added 11 new destinations in 2025, including Chișinău, Iași, Vilnius, and Riga, expanding its footprint in Europe and the Middle East.

As part of a multimillion-dollar cabin retrofit program, 23 Boeing 737-800s have been upgraded with lie-flat seats in business class and enhanced economy offerings. The airline has also increased its workforce by 10% to over 6,500 employees and launched a new pilot training program to meet future demand.
