Italian flag carrier ITA Airways has postponed naming a new board of directors while it awaits a possible takeover by Lufthansa.
The airline said the nominating process had been put back "pending the outcome of the exclusive negotiation still in progress with the possible partner," referring to Lufthansa Group, which is in talks with the airline and the Italian government about a possible takeover of the former Alitalia.
The postponement was decided at the ITA Airways shareholder meeting held on May 11, which was attended by government officials and took place a day ahead of the latest deadline for the Lufthansa negotiations to be finalised.
