Saudi Arabia's low-cost airline flyadeal and Lufthansa Technik have extended their partnership after signing a new five-year contract. Under the agreement, it extends the aircraft engineering services agreement. In addition, it includes the selection of software solutions, AMOS airline edition and AMOScloud, advancing flyadeal's efforts to digitally transform its technical operations.
""flyadeal is delighted to strengthen our partnership with Lufthansa Technic on the engineering and maintenance side, and begin working with Swiss-AS to enhance the digitalisation of our technical operations,"" said flyadeal director of engineering & maintenance Ahmed Bakadam. ""This is a major step towards optimising flyadeal’s maintenance activities through digital platforms ensuring greater operational efficiency and lower operational costs.""
Lufthansa Technik vice president digital fleet solutions Philip Mende commented: ""While AMOS delivers great and increasing value individually, the combination of all digital solutions within our ecosystem further provides additional benefits for our partners.""
The low-cost airline has also upgraded its seating for its A320neo deliveries in 2024 through to 2026 with Acro Aircraft Seating’s series 9 seating.
“Our striking livery will, I know, showcase the Series 9 to an impactful advantage, which goes much further than appearance,” said flyadeal CEO Steve Greenway. “The key is a higher specification, lighter, and more robust seating which our customers will find even more comfortable.”
The airline had used Acro’s series 6 seating for its fleet since 2021.
