Advanced air mobility firm Eve and UI Helicopter, a South Korean helicopter operator and maintenance provider, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the aim to develop and grow the air mobility industry ecosystem in South Korea.
The two companies will collaborate to introduce eVTOL technical, operational and ecosystem requirements to the local government and industry in South Korea.
“Advanced air mobility has the potential to reinvent global mobility, particularly in the dense urban areas that need it most,” explained Johann Bordais, CEO of Eve.
UI said it will use its local knowledge to work closely with policymakers, ensuring open communication as both parties create an advanced air mobility ecosystem. This will focus on using the best technical practices while also following South Korea’s specific rules and regulations.
The South Korean government has also taken a number of steps to advance urban air mobility through various initiatives, such as the K-UAM Grand Challenge.
