EVA Airways confirms Airbus order; BOC Aviation receives insurance payout

EVA Airways disclosed in a stock exchange filing that it has agreed the purchase of 18 A350-1000s and 15 A321neo aircraft.

The filing states that each A350-1000 aircraft will not exceed US$436 million and that each A321neo aircraft will not exceed US$150 million, for a total transaction price below $10.1bn.

Meanwhile, BOC Aviation (Ireland) has revealed that it has received a cash payment of approximately US$208 million under an insurance settlement with LLC “Insurance Company NSK” (NSK), a Russian insurance company, in respect of eight aircraft detained in Russia that were formerly leased to Pobeda Airlines. The lessor stated that it has released its claims against NSK, Pobeda and other relevant parties in Russia with respect to those eight aircraft. The insurance settlement and receipt of the settlement proceeds are consistent with all applicable sanctions regimes, said BOC Aviation.

The lessor further stated that it will continue to pursue all opportunities for the recovery of the full value of all aircraft detained in Russia from all available sources but said that it was unable at present to ascribe a value to any such potential future recovery.
