Etihad January 2024 passenger numbers increase 35% YoY
Etihad Airways passenger numbers increased to 1.46 million in January 2024, up from 1.08 million in January 2023. Passenger load factor was at 86.04%, down from 87.7% YoY. Destinations served increased to 69 from 64 and fleet size was up from 71 to 85 aircraft. ""In January 2024, we saw a 35% YoY growth in customer numbers and were flying to five more destinations than the same period in 2023,"" said Etihad Airways CEO Antonoaldo Neves. Neves added: ""We are meeting customer demand by adding more flights to key destinations, and Etihad is now offering almost 27% more weekly departures for summer 2024 compared to last summer."" Last year, at the Dubai Airshow, Etihad Airways announced its ambitious plans to increase passenger numbers to a target of 33 million and double its fleet to over 160 aircraft by 2030.
