Etihad and Ethiopian Airlines will both commence new services between Abu Dhabi and Addis Ababa, as part of a new joint venture (JV) between the two airlines.
As part of this partnership, Ethiopian Airlines will commence a new service from Addis Ababa to Zayed International Airport on July 15, 2025, while Etihad will introduce daily flights to the Ethiopian capital from October 1, 2025.
“This JV paves the way for deeper discussions on working together across our respective regions on other cooperation, including frequent flyer programmes, training and cargo,” said Antonoaldo Neves, chief executive officer of Etihad.
Ethiopian Airlines will operate the route using its fleet of 777 and A350-1000 aircraft, while Etihad will utilise its fleet of A230 jets.
