El Al will resume flights between Tel Aviv and Moscow from May 1, 2025, after the airline suspended the service in December last year.
The Israeli carrier stopped its Moscow service following the crash of Azerbaijan Airlines flight 8243, which killed 38 people, after apparently being struck by a Russian missile. The airline deemed Russian airspace to be too unsafe following the incident.
The airline then said at the end of 2024 that flights on this route will be suspended until the end of its winter schedule, originally stating that services to Moscow would resume on April 1, 2025.
El Al will operate seven weekly flights between the two cities, operated by its fleet of 737-900 aircraft.
Russian carrier Red Wings is currently the only airline which has a direct service between Tel Aviv and Moscow.
