Brussels Airlines has reached an agreement with cockpit unions, meaning that an upcoming strike scheduled to affect the airline between March 27-30 is no longer taking place. This latest agreement comes a fortnight after the carrier was able to reach an agreement with cabin crew unions.
“We are very happy with the outcome of the intense negotiations we had these past weeks,” explained Filip Aerts, head of flight operations, Brussels Airlines, adding: “We would like to thank the unions for their constructive meetings”. He concluded: “Let’s now all focus on getting towards sustainable profitability and making our company grow”.
The new deal takes the form of a reviewed gross salary grid to be implemented in two parts: the first implemented this year and the second step in 2026. Brussels Airlines adds that following the announcement of its first profitable full-year results since 2019, “a substantial part of this profit is used to increase the salaries of the employees,” as well as making other investments in its future.
