British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Ryanair and easyJet have jointly commissioned Pricewaterhouse Coopers to conduct a survey into Air Passenger Duty (APD) and its impact on the country’s economy.
APD increased by 8% at in April 2012 and will be further increased next year. The airline industry launched its ‘Fair Tax on Flying’ initiative, which urges people to contact MPs and register their disapproval of the increases, and with the APD survey is added to the pressure on the government to lower the rate increases.
