Malaysia Airlines increases its end of year capacity

Malaysia Airlines is expanding its flight services in response to an increase in travel demand during the end of year period. 

The airline will operate 112 additional flights between Kuala Lumpur and East Malaysia from December 19, 2024, to January 1, 2025. This increase will result in the airline operating a total of 596 flights during the Christmas and New Year period.

“These initiatives align with our strategic focus on meeting the dynamic travel demands of our customers,” said Ahmad Luqman Mohd Azmi, chief executive officer of airlines at Malaysia Aviation Group.

The airline has also set out plans to increase its services for the Chinese New Year travel period. From January 24, 2025, to February 4, 2025, Malaysia Airlines will operate an additional 102 flights, bringing its total weekly flights to and from Sabah and Sarawak to 219.

In addition to increases in domestic operations, the Malaysian flag carrier will also be adding a 7th daily frequency to Jakarta, from January 28, 2025.
