Juneyao Air received its first A321neo assembled at the Airbus’ Final Assembly line in Tianjin, China. The aircraft was commissioned at the Tianjin facility last November and since then all the tests went smoothly, claims Airbus.
Expressing confidence in the Tianjin facility, George Xu, Airbus Executive Vice President and Airbus China CEO said: “The successful delivery of the first A321 aircraft enables Airbus to honour the popularity of the aircraft for the China market and beyond and the consistent trust and support from our customers. Airbus continues to expand and enhance its comprehensive cooperation with China’s aviation industry, underlining its long-term commitment to China to ensure customer proximity while supporting the global commercial aircraft production ramp-up.”
The A320neo is powered by Pratt & Whitney GTF engine and features 207 comfortable seats, 8 in Business and 199 in Economy class. Its delivery flight used 10% Sustainable Aviation Fuel blend in support of the green aviation strategy in China.
The Final Assembly Line in Tianjin was inaugurated in 2008. It is also the first Airbus commercial aircraft assembly line outside Europe. The facility successfully delivered its first A320 in 2009 and since then have delivered over 600 aircraft in last 14 years.
Airbus has four A320 Family final assembly facilities around the world: Hamburg, Germany; Toulouse, France; Tianjin, China; and Mobile, United States.
