With the significant demand for air travel during Hajj, Emirates is deploying extra flights to ensure more connectivity for the scores of pilgrims making their way to the Holy City of Makkah. Emirates will be operating special flights to Jeddah and Medina during the upcoming Hajj season to carry pilgrims for this special period.
Emirates will be deploying 31 additional flights to Jeddah and double daily flights to Medina from 23 June to 20 July. These services will run in parallel with Emirates’ regularly scheduled services.
Emirates has also announced that it will increase frequencies and start daily services to Mexico City (MEX) via Barcelona (BCN) from 23 June 2022.
Boosting its frequency from six times weekly to daily flights, Emirates will now increase its average capacity and offer around 2000 seats per week to and from the Mexican capital.
The Dubai-Barcelona-Mexico route is operated with a two-class Emirates Boeing 777-200LR.
Emirates has also reported that it is preparing for a busy summer as travel rebounds with more than 550,000 customers expected to fly out from the UAE between June and July on over 2,400 weekly network-wide departures. The airline continues to add flights and frequencies where possible as it ramps up its summer schedule, and will be operating close to 80% of its pre-pandemic capacity, or over 1 million weekly seats this summer to serve demand.
