airBaltic has announced a major network expansion of up to 18 routers including Belgrade, Split, Dubrovnik, and Tivat during the 2023 summer season. airBaltic will start two weekly flights from Riga to Belgrade on May 16, 2022, marking its return to the Serbian capital after twelve years.
In the recent past, the airline discontinued its operations to many destinations due to fleet shortages and financial problems.
airBaltic's CEO, Martin Gauss, said: “This is the largest number of new routes in a single season we have ever seen at airBaltic. We continue to be committed to our home cities in the Baltics and improving connectivity to and from the region. We are glad to expand airBaltic offering for the next summer season both with new route additions and increased flight frequencies on our existing leisure and city break routes.”
The list of 18 routes includes 10 from Riga, four from Tallinn, and four from Vilnius. Additionally, the airline will increase flight frequencies on such popular routes from Riga as Barcelona, Lisbon, Rome, and more.
Besides, airBaltic has also started a new travel loyalty programme with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and Air France, offering the members of airBaltic Club to earn loyalty points on airBaltic codeshare flights operated by KLM or Air France.
