airBaltic elects new supervisory board

Shareholders at airBaltic elected Andrejs Martinovs as chairman and Lars Mydland as vice chairman of the Latvian airline’s supervisory board on February 11, 2025.

Martinovs is an experienced financial and investment management professional with over 27 years of experience in the local capital market in asset management, pension funds, and private equity investments.

He stated that completing a successful IPO as well as strengthening its strategic partnership with the Lufthansa Group are currently priorities for the airline.

Mydland also has extensive experience in senior positions in the aviation industry, previously holding several board positions within the SAS Group.

Following a recently announced strategic investment from the Lufthansa Group, the decision was taken at a shareholders' meeting to complete the company's share capital reduction process. whereby the already initiated changes to simplify the company’s share structure will be formalised in the commercial register.

This newly appointed board is set to enable the airline’s growth.
