Air New Zealand CEO Greg Foran has announced his reignition and will leave the airline on October 20, 2025.
Foran, who has held this position for five years, has helped navigate the airline through the COVID-19 pandemic, aircraft retrofits and most recently fleet groundings triggered by GTF engine inspections.
Engine maintenance delays impacted first-half fiscal year results for the airline, as Foran criticised original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) for not providing sufficient transparency when it comes to maintenance forecasts.
The company’s chair, Therese Walsh, commented: “While these challenges impact our operations almost daily, Greg's relentless focus, and global profile, have been instrumental in mitigating the consequential disruptions on our customers.”
The airline confirmed that its board will now carry out an immediate global search for Foran's replacement.
