Korean Air received an A330-200 aircraft from China Aircraft Leasing Group (CALC) in March 2025. The transaction marks the first collaboration between the two parties.
The aircraft features a two-class cabin configuration and will support Korean Air's fleet strategy.
“This marks the beginning of a strong partnership, and we look forward to exploring further opportunities for cooperation with Korean Air in the future,” said CALC president and chief commercial officer Winnie Liu.
In addition, Korean Air said on March 17, 2025, that it will introduce premium economy seating in response to “growing market demand”. The airline will retrofit 11 777-300ER aircraft, removing first class cabins to install premium economy cabins. The first retrofitted aircraft will enter service in the second half of 2025 with a three-class configuration featuring prestige (business), premium economy, and economy. Fleet modifications will continue through 2026 to expand premium economy availability across more routes.
The airline will expand and renovate its existing lounges at Incheon International Airport Terminal 2, while also building new ‘prestige class garden lounges' in both the east and west wings areas of the airport scheduled to be complete in the fourth phase of the airport's expansion.
The airline recently unveiled its new livery and corporate identity.
