Air India flight diverts to Russia after 'technical issue'
An Air India 777 operating a service from Delhi to San Francisco made a ‘precautionary’ landing at Krasnoyarsk International Airport in Russia on July 18, 2024. Posting on social media platform X, the airline said, “After the cockpit crew detected a potential issue in the cargo hold area. The aircraft landed safely at KJA with all 225 passengers and 19 members of the flight crew, who have now disembarked and have been taken to the terminal building for further processes.” A ferry flight from Mumbai to Krasnoyarsk is expected to arrive at the Russian airport at 20:00 local time on July 19, 2024. The airline added, “The ferry flight is carrying essentials in addition to sufficient amount of food for all passengers. The aircraft will ferry all passengers and crew out of KJA at the earliest”
