At the African Airlines Association (AFRAA) 42nd general assembly held in Addis Ababa from November 22 to 23 the body elected a new leadership-executive committee, secretary general and president of the association.
The assembly elected the following chief executives for the executive committee of AFRAA: Rammah Ettir of Afriqiyah Airways, Abderahmane Berthe of Air Mali and David Tokoph of Interair-for a term of one year the close of the 43rd AGA (AFRAA General Assembly); Francois Emmanual of Air Ivoire, Capt. Davy Savy of Air Sychelles for a term of two years until the close the 44th AGA. Mohamed Ghelala of Air Burkina, Nabil Chettaoui of Tunis Air and Inati Ntshanga of South Africa Express will serve for a term of three years until the close of the 45th AGA.
Members of the executive committee in their capacity as members of the IATA board of governors are Hussein Massoud of Egypt Air, Soobhiraj Bungsraz of Air Mauritius and Recardo Viegas of LAM Mozambique.
Girma Wake of Ethiopian Airlines handed over the presidency to Driss Benhima of Royal Air Maroc for the year 2011.
Hussein Massoud of Egypt Air is elected as chairman of the association for the year 2011.
The AGA elected Abderahmane Berthe of Air Mali as vice chairman of the executive committee and Inati Ntshanga of South Africa Express as vice chairman. Elijah Chingosho, a Zimbabwean aviation professional is elected as secretary general of AFRAA.
