Air Canada to enhance intermodal connectivity across parts of its network

Air Canada is set to extend its intermodal strategy across parts of Europe and Asia, allowing passengers to book onward land connections from their initial arrival destination.

During the winter season passengers arriving in Rome and Milan, can access 30 destinations in Italy, including Florence and Naples. Similarly In Spain, flights to Barcelona and Madrid connect can connect to 24 cities across the country like Cádiz and Granada.

Arrivals at London Heathrow can link to major rail lines within the UK and in South Korea, travellers arriving in Seoul can reach eight cities, including Busan, via high-speed train.

“The expanded offer will make it easy for our customers flying to and from our international hubs to add convenient rail or bus connections on a single itinerary,” said Mark Galardo, executive vice president of revenue and network planning and president, cargo at Air Canada. “Our intermodal connections not only provide more choice, but also make available sustainable options for short-haul segments of their journey.”

These new rail and bus options expand the Air Canada Intermodal offering previously launched in December 2023 in France, Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
